Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said Bhiwani district's Dulheri village, which was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its cleanliness campaign, has become an inspiration for the 'Swachhata Abhiyan' across the country.
Khattar has been holding a ''Jan Samvad'' programme at several villages in Bhiwani as part of his three-day tour to the district which began on Sunday from Kharak Kalan village to interact with the rural people. This year, the chief minister will visit all the districts of the state and hold these programmes.
In February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his radio broadcast ''Mann ki Baat'', praised the youth of Dulheri village for enthusiastically running a cleanliness campaign.
Khattar said that tractor trolleys will be given in 135 big villages of the state under the 'Swachhata Abhiyan' and the number of 'safai karamcharis' will also be increased as per requirement. He said that other villages should also follow the Swachhata Abhiyan, considering Dulheri as a model. Khattar instructed the deputy commissioner and the local representatives to conduct cleanliness campaigns in villages in the district.
He said that under the Swachhata Abhiyan, manure will be prepared by composting the garbage of the village within one to two acres of land. The village panchayat can also earn some profit by selling it.
Meanwhile, during the Jan Samvad programme at Tosham village, Khattar said that 1,850 new ration cards have been made in the village. Similarly, Ayushman cards have been made for 6,339 people in the village, out of which 197 cardholders have got their treatment done.
During his visit to Tosham village, the chief minister conducted a surprise inspection of Tosham Police Station and appreciated Station House Officer Sukhbir Singh for the cleanliness arrangement at the police station.
GOVT GIVING JOBS ON MERIT
Khattar on Tuesday also visited the Chinkara Breeding Centre located at Kairu village in Bhiwani district and inquired about the efforts being made at the centre for the conservation of Chinkara species. He also reviewed various facilities available at the centre and said that the Chinkara Breeding Centre will be developed as a tourism hub.
Later, while addressing the people during the Jan Samvad programme in Kairu village, the Chief Minister said that the farmers need not panic as the state government is standing shoulder to shoulder with them. “The government will give compensation to the farmers for the crop loss caused by hailstorm, unseasonal rains and other natural calamities. The loss due to unseasonal rains is being assessed and compensation will be given in the coming month,” he added.
Khattar said that it is the priority of the state government to provide good governance to the people in a transparent manner and to solve the grievances of the general public. “The online system has been implemented only to give benefits of the schemes to the eligible and needy people in a swift and fair manner,” he added.
He said that in the year 1980, he had left home for social service. “It is not easy to work for society; if the mind is clear then the way opens,” he added. Meanwhile, mentioning the figures of the jobs, Khattar said that 61 youths have got employment in Kairu village. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, a local said that his son has got a job on the basis of merit.
Khattar said that a grant of Rs 48 lakh has been issued to both the panchayats in Kairu village for development works and a grant of Rs 1.90 crore will be given to both the panchayats next year. “If the population increases by 1,000, then the grant will increase by Rs 20 lakh,” he added. Referring to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Chief Minister said that 170 persons in Kairu village have availed its benefit and Rs 26 lakhs have been spent on their treatment.
The Chief Minister also conducted a surprise inspection of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) of Sandwa village. During this, he inquired about the medical facilities being provided to the people from the staff members appointed there. Medical Officer, Dr. Sudhir Chahar and Pharmacy Officer, Anil Jhanwari apprised the Chief Minister in detail about the services being provided through this centre. On the spot, the Chief Minister spoke to Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Dr G Anupama on the phone and directed to provide all basic facilities in the PHC.
JAN SAMVAD ON CHARPOYS, MUDDHAS
The Chief Minister’s through the Jan Samvad programmes in 12 big villages of Bhiwani, namely Kharak Kalan, Kalinga, Chang, Tigrana, Dhanana, Baliali, Bapora, Dinod, Tosham, Dulheri, Sandwa and Kairu, listened to the problems of the people while sitting on charpoys (cots) and muddha (stool) for a better connect with the rural masses.
Bhiwani district, which has been the pivot of the state's politics, was selected by the Chief Minister for the Jan Samvad programme at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is celebrating its foundation day on April 6; when the party flag will be hoisted on 5 lakh houses across the state.
During the Jan Samvad programme, the women sarpanches also come across the importance of an elected public representative in a democracy, as the Chief Minister sat with them and listened to the problems of the people, besides taking information about the development plans of the villages.
