An awareness campaign was conducted on "International Drug Prevention Day" by Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences and Hospital on Monday.Dr. Sharmila Thakur, Senior Lecturer, Department of Periodontology, organized a lecture on drug addiction and gave information about its prevention.She Motivated not to get intoxicated to avoid the side effects of intoxication and serious diseases. During this, senior lecturer Dr. Sharmila Thakur took a pledge to the students not to take drugs for a happy life.Neighbors, relatives and friends were asked to inform about the fatal diseases caused by intoxication and to stay away from the consumption of intoxicants.On the other hand, an appeal was made to the young generation to be careful and alert from drug addiction without thinking anything.Secretary Dr. Praveen Srinivas said in his address that intoxication has become the reason for many diseases spreading in the society.Every citizen has to work with full honesty and responsibility to keep the society away from drug abuse.We have to play our important role in building a better society. He said that drug addiction is such a disease which is continuously affecting the young generation and making them sick in many ways.

A large section of the youth is getting addicted to toxic substances like alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco and drugs.It should be the effort of all of us to make the country a beautiful future and a powerful nation by keeping the youth of the country away from the habits of drugs.Senior Lecturer Dr. Sharmila Thakur said in her address that International Anti-Drug Day is celebrated every year on 26th June, so that more and more people in the world can be saved from drug addiction and deaths due to it.Continuously issuing messages by the government, it has been appealed to all to keep yourself and your family away from drugs.Drug abuse not only hollows out the society, but the money earned from drug trafficking is used against the security of the country.Take an active part in this war against drugs, inform the security agencies about drug trade happening around you.The problem of drug addiction can be eradicated from the root with the collective efforts of all the people.
