Renowned Ophthalmologist Dr. Bharti Kashyap was honoured with Gold Medal for her excellent work in the field of Ophthalmology at the inauguration ceremony of Bombay Association of Ophthalmologists’ annual conference on March 25 in Mumbai by Bombay Association of Ophthalmologists and Eye Advance. She was given this gold medal by former Rajya Sabha member and Padma Shri recipient Dr. Vikas Mahatme.

This gold medal is given every year by the organisation to some selected eye doctors of the country who have done excellent work in the field of Cataract and Lasik surgery.

Noted ophthalmologist Dr. Bharti Kashyap was awarded a gold medal by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami at a meet of Intra-Ocular Implant and Refractive Society, India in Chennai for her unparalleled contribution in the field of Ophthalmic Medicine —namely Cataract treatment and Lasik surgery.

Dr Bharti Kashyap delivered several lectures on Femto Laser Bladeless Cataract Surgery there. It may be noted that Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital is credited for bringing this method of laser assisted bladeless cataract surgery to Jharkhand.

Dr. Bharti Kashyap said that this bladeless femto laser cataract surgery method has been started in Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital since the year 2014 and patients of Jharkhand are continuously getting benefit from it.

In laser assisted cataract surgery, one’s images are captured by an advanced imaging system called OCT and with the help of femtosecond laser, corneal incision, lens capsule opening and cataract disintegration is done robotically.

Laser surgery with unmatched precision, is safe on the cornea, comfortable and painless. It is suitable for patients with thin cornea and diabetic heart, cancer, haemophilia, asthma and extreme myopia. Good light comes in a few hours.

Notably, Dr. Kashyap, a regular in presenting her research at European and American Society in the field of Cataract treatment and Lasik Surgery, has been constantly applauded for her work. She has been a part of American Society’s Annual conference in 2019 at San Diego, 2018 at Washington DC., 2017 at Los Angeles. She has also attended European Society’s conferences at Vienna in 2019, Lisbon in 2017, Copenhagen in 2016 and Barcelona in 2015 to present her research papers. She has also been invited to be a part of European Society’s Annual conference to present three of her research papers from September 14 to 18 this year.
