The cyber criminals cheated a Gomia consumer of Rs 23,000 in the name of updating the electricity bill. In this regard, the victim Shravan Kumar has given a written complaint in Gomia police station here on Tuesday.
He said that on Monday, at around 11 am, he got a call on his mobile that It was said on the phone that his electricity bill is deposited, but the bill has not been updated and get it updated soon, otherwise the electricity connection will be disconnected,said consumer.
After this, Shravan Kumar was asked to update the consumer number, Aadhaar number and other information, then Kumar gave him all the details. Within a short time, a message came on his mobile that Rs 22,800 had been withdrawn from his SBI account.
As soon as the message arrived, Shravan Kumar was shocked and suspected a fraud had happened to him. Kumar immediately informed the Gomia police in this regard.
As soon as the information was received, the station in-charge Rajesh Ranjan started the investigation.
