Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Uttarakhand

The spurt in the number of Covid-19 patients is continuing to cause concern to the State government and general public. After reporting 108 new cases of the disease on Tuesday the State health department reported 90 new cases of Covid-19 from different parts of the State on Wednesday.  The authorities reported 55 new cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun on the day. The department found 10  new cases of the disease in Nainital, nine in Tehri, seven in Haridwar, three in Almora, two in Bageshwar and one each in Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts on the day.  

The authorities declared 81 patients cured from the disease on the day.  The department has so far detected 790 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year in the State . A total of 585 patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of six patients have lost their lives from the disease from January 1 this year in the state.  The State now has 199 active patients of Covid-19.  Dehradun has 93 active cases of the disease while Nainital has 32, Haridwar 22, Almora 11, Tehri nine, Pauri seven, Uttarkashi six, Chamoli and Champawat five each, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar four each and Rudraprayag one case of the disease.
