The Naveen Patnaik Government is standing as a barrier between the Lords and the devotees. The Congress had demanded opening of all four gates of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, carrying out an inventory of the Ratna Bhandar and returning of the land acquired by Vedanta to the farmers. But as the demands have not been met, the Congress would agitate till all the demands are fulfilled, said Pradesh Committee president Sarat Pattanayak here on Monday.
The Congress would hold a Tulasi Yatra on December 1. The party would collect Tulasi from every block and town from Jagannath lovers, devotees, youths, students and the collected Tulasi would be brought to the Congress headquarters here by party members. Then on December 1, a yatra would begin to Puri and the Tulasi would be offered to Lord Jagannath. After this if the State Government doesn’t fulfil the demands, the Congress would decide its future course of action, said Pattanayak.
Former PCC president Prasad Harichandan said that recently, 30 devotees who were standing in queues for darshan of Lords were injured in a stampede. But it has no impact on the government. The Shreemandir Parikrama project would be dedicated to the people on January 17. The government should release all details of the project including the expenditure incurred.
