CM meets over 30k tribal kids in Odisha

Saturday, 29 April 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

Apart from everyone's thinking, Dr. Achyut Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Institute of Social Science, has done the work of providing free education to thousands of poor and tribal children, his effort is commendable. Samanta ji should come to our state also and give guidance to the youth of Jharkhand. How the way can be paved for the tribal children here to walk on the track of development. Let us work together on this,” said Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the children at the function of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Institute of Social Science located in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha.

The CM said that he has come here today to know how we can do better in the field of education and to learn from the thousands of children sitting here. Good things should be adopted with this. “Today I could not bring anything for the organization. But, I will give my one month salary to this institute,” he said.

The CM said that today this platform forces us to think a lot. “With great difficulty, a tribal coming from the tribal society reaches only the post of the state. I got an opportunity to work for the development of the state from December 2019. But during the Corona transition period, the pace of development was stopped for some time. After this, when life became normal, I got a chance to work in the tribal areas of Jharkhand. We have taken many things forward very fast. Jharkhand is the first state in the country, where 100 per cent scholarship is given to tribal children for higher education abroad. There is satisfaction in the mind of the society which yearns to get education from the school. He is getting higher education abroad. The state government will bear the expenses incurred by the children of the state in preparing for competitive exams; the government has also made a law related to this,” he said.

Kalpana Soren, wife of the CM, also shared her experiences while addressing the function organized at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences. Encouraging the students, he said - no one can snatch your confidence from you. Only your confidence will give you success. Need to work honestly. Set your own goals. Keep moving forward in this direction. Keep working hard and don't be afraid if you fail. After repeated failures, you will surely succeed and reach your destination.

Soren said that she grew up and studied here. I have also received my engineering education and training here. When I used to study here, the whole area used to become deserted in the evening, but today the atmosphere here is completely different. There are more than 40,000 boys and girls in an institution. They are studying for a bright future. Now this area is seen in a different style. It will be a matter of pride for all of us if the boys and girls of the tribal society studying here achieve heights in every field.

Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh said that we had been hearing the name of this university of Bhubaneswar for years. We used to think that this institute must be giving education to children in a small place. But, we came to know after coming here. This is an empire. Those who established this university must have been blessed by God. The CM is making a lot of efforts that such an institute should be built in Jharkhand as well. For this we have come among you. I hope that his journey will start a new world in Jharkhand.

Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, wife of Chief Minister Kalpana Soren, Founder of KIIT and KISS University Dr. Achyut Samanta, Principal Personal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Srivastava and others were present on the occasion.
