: 19 years after the murder of Swami Laxmanananda in Jaleshpata Ashram in Kandhamal, the Satya Sanatan Praja Samity (SSPS), an organisation working for humanity, in its meeting held in Sambalpur on Friday demanded a CBI inquiry to unearth the murder mystery.
At the outset, 100 elite people who gathered from all over the district welcomed the ‘Akhanda Jyoti’ that came from the murder spot of the Swamiji.
Addressing the Sammilani, State president of SSPS Er Debasisha Hota said, “Graham Staines, a Christian Padri, was murdered on January, 1999. Dara Singh has been in jail since then for the last 24 years as the conspirator of Staines’ murder. Swami Laxanananda was murdered on August 23 2008. The conspirator of the murder was none other than a Rajya Sabha MP. But he has not been arrested so far.”
“Are there two rules in the country-one for Christians and one for Hindus?” asked Er Hota. He demanded a CBI inquiry into Swamiji’s murder to unearth the truth and bring the real culprit to book.
Educationists and intellectuals apart, the office bearers of Western Odisha Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal were present. “We will go for mass agitation, if CBI our demand is not met soon,” they warned.
