In a bid to provide free and fair elections, surveillance teams have seized illegal cash and goods worth Rs. 38.34 crore as of October 29 in Chhattisgarh, an official communiqué said on Monday.
The seizures include Rs. 10.11 crore in cash, 30,840 litres of liquor worth Rs. 90.87 lakh, 184 kg of gems and jewellery worth Rs. 14.82 crore and other goods worth Rs. 9.50 crore.
The seizures took place after the model code of conduct was imposed ahead of Assembly elections on November 7 and 17.
Illegal transportation and storage of money and goods is being closely monitored by enforcement agencies in the state.
