Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said that the Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, spanning from 2022 to 2047, is aimed at nurturing a sense of patriotism among the youth. “During Amrit Kaal, we remember and pay homage to the countless valiant martyrs who fought for the nation's freedom. After the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the program ‘Meri Mati-Mera Desh’ is now awakening the patriotic spirit among our youth,” he added.

The Chief Minister was addressing the people at the state-level ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ event in Rohtak. On this occasion, he also administered the Pancha-Pran oath to the people, which will become an integral part of our lives. The Chief Minister also recited the words of the renowned poet, saying, "Aao Bacchon Tumhe Dikhayen Jhanki Hindustan Ki, Is Maati  Se Tilak Karno Ye Dharti  Hai Balidan Ki."

He said that today, dedicated volunteers have gathered sacred soil from across Haryana, collecting it in 242 Kalash, and these will be transported to Delhi on October 29. As many as 75,000 Kalash from all corners of the country will arrive in Delhi, carrying this sacred soil, which will be utilized in the creation of Amrit Vatika as a memorial of the Amrit Kaal. This soil will also be incorporated into the trees along the Kartavaya Path, symbolizing the unity and integrity of the nation. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated this sacred campaign with the intention of nurturing a sense of patriotism among the youth.

Khattar stated that when this sacred soil, collected from approximately 7 lakh villages and cities across the country, reaches Delhi, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi will personally lead the oath-taking ceremony for all the volunteers. He said that when the spirit of patriotism is kindled within our youth, our strength as a nation will remain unassailable.

He said that today India stands as the fifth-largest economic power globally. In 1947, when the country gained independence, there was a renewed sense of zeal and enthusiasm among the people. In terms of development, we have made significant progress, reaching the moon and achieving self-reliance in various sectors. Despite Haryana's population accounting for only two percent of the country's population, the state's youth exhibit a remarkable spirit of service to the nation, with an approximately 11 percent participation rate in the armed forces.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the love for the nation's soil is deeply ingrained in everyone. Farmers seek forgiveness from Mother Earth before plowing, wrestlers apply a tilak of soil before entering the akhara, and each person salutes Mother Earth as they begin their day.

Khattar said that today, Haryana has made significant progress in every field, including the economy and industry. The state has created an environment where investors from across the country and the world are eager to invest in Haryana. Moreover, when it comes to medals won by athletes in the country, players from Haryana alone contribute to 40 percent of the total medals.

Welcoming the Chief Minister, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General of Information, Public Relations, and Languages Department, Dr Amit Agrawal said that this program is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the entire country. He congratulated the dedicated volunteers who brought the sacred soil from every corner of the state, noting that the nation is commemorating 75 years of independence. Over the past year, the state has been consistently organizing programs in celebration of this significant milestone, and the people of Haryana have embraced Amritkaal with full zeal. Dr. Agarwal underlined the unifying power of our country's soil, explaining that our farmers produce food, our soldiers protect the nation with a tilak of soil, and our wrestlers bring glory to the country by competing on this soil. The soil collected from every corner of the state will be transported to Delhi through these Kalash, where it will be utilized in the construction of Amrit Vatika, he added.
