Cabinet approves 8% hike in DA for State Govt employees

The State Cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to raising the dearness allowance and dearness relief for State government employees by 8 per cent, taking the total to 42 per cent from 34. Dearness allowance has also been increased for pensioners from January 1, 2023. The state government pensioners too will get 42 per cent instead of 38 per cent.

The meeting of the Jharkhand Council of Ministers was held today at Project Bhavan Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. A total of 26 proposals have been approved in the meeting. The Council of Ministers also gave its nod to increase the honorarium of assistant professors appointed against the sanctioned posts at engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges under the Higher Technical Education Department. The government has agreed to give Rs 57100 and Rs 56100 as honorarium to assistant professors. Similarly, it has been decided to give an honorarium of Rs 57,100 to assistant teachers teaching in PG departments and colleges of Ranchi University. Along with this, it has been said that regular backlog appointments on the post of assistant teacher and the period of the panel formed for this is extended by JPSC. At the same time approval was also given to take the services of guest faculty.

Families of deceased migrant labourers will get Rs 50,000. The government has decided to increase the Rs 25,000 that the government used to give earlier to bring the dead bodies of migrant labourers to their native places. Now the government has decided that 50 thousand rupees will be given to the families of such migrant labourers. At the same time, the government approved the State Drug Control Service Conditions Manual. Jharkhand Illegal Mining Engineering Service Condition Amendment Rules approved. In both the rules, the compulsion to pass matriculation from Jharkhand has been relaxed.

The government has fixed the fees for the students studying in private medical colleges for training. Along with this, there has been a change in the scholarship given to the interns in the Government Medical College. At the same time, Jharkhand Medical Service Recruitment Promotion and Service Condition Amendment Rules 2023 were approved.

Nod to the appointment of administrators at municipal bodies was also approved at today’s Cabinet meeting.

The government has decided that till the municipal elections are held in the state, administrators will be appointed in 34 municipal bodies. This administrative body will somewhere be called the Office of the Principal Municipal Commissioner etc. The government has also amended the liquor policy immediately. Under this, GSBCL will operate the retail shop for the next four months. This system will come into effect from 1 May 2023. This will be applicable in those districts where the placement agency has not yet been selected.
