Applications invited for State Level Women Awards 

Chandigarh: The Haryana Women and Child Development Department has invited applications for State Level Women Awards from women who have excelled in various fields. The awards are open to women from all walks of life. Under women awards, Rs 1.50 lakh and citation will be given for Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award, Rs 1 lakh and citation for Kalpana Chawla Bravery Award, Rs 1 lakh and citation for Sister Shanno Devi Panchayati Raj Award. Rs 51,000 and a citation will be given for the Life Time Achievement Award. 


CET Group-D written examination in Hry on Oct 21, 22

Chandigarh: To ensure seamless conduct of the forthcoming CET Group-D written examination in Haryana, scheduled for October 21 and 22, Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, presided over a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the state on Monday. He said that this examination encompasses a total of 13,536 posts which were advertised by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and 1,375,151 candidates are set to participate in 798 Examination centres. The examination will be conducted over two sessions each day, with the morning session from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM and the afternoon session from 03:00 PM to 04:45 PM. The scale of this operation is substantial, accommodating about 3,44,000 candidates per session over the two days.

Haryana CS issues procedure for engaging contractual manpower through HKRNL

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Monday issued a procedure for raising demand for the engagement of contractual manpower through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) on its portal. Now it has been decided that the Boards, Corporations, and Undertakings that do not receive budgetary support from the State Government are exempted from the requirement to seek prior approval from the Finance Department for the engagement of contractual manpower through HKRN, as long as the engagement remains within the sanctioned posts, procedure added.  


Haryana gears up for 5G deployment

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that the state government is taking steps to enhance the state's readiness for the forthcoming 5G technology and streamline departmental planning. While presiding over a meeting on the state's readiness for 5G and streamlining departmental planning, Kaushal said that the state government in collaboration with BISAG-N has developed three innovative mobile applications to facilitate the mapping of street infrastructure and other departmental infrastructure. This initiative is a crucial step forward in enhancing the state's readiness for 5G and streamlining departmental planning. 

Haryana Govt to provide health services to Contractual employees

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Monday said that employees engaged in various departments under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited will now have access to health services through the Haryana Chirayu Yojana. This initiative will extend the much-needed benefits of healthcare services to a substantial number of engaged contractual employees. The Chief Secretary chaired a meeting today, convened to deliberate on extending medical service benefits to employees affiliated with Urban Local Bodies. 

Rain lashes Chandigarh parts of Punjab Haryana

Chandigarh: Rain lashed Chandigarh and its surrounding areas on Monday, bringing down the temperature by a few notches. A few parts of Punjab and Haryana also received showers. According to the weather department, Ambala, Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad and Kurukshetra in Haryana, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur and Mohali in Punjab also received rains in the past 24 hours period ending at 8:30 am on Monday. Chandigarh received heavy downpours on Monday morning. Many motorists had to switch the headlights of their vehicles as dark clouds reduced visibility for some time in the morning.

APS to CM releases the ‘Nirjhari’, epic poetry collection 

Chandigarh: Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and the Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal on Monday released the ‘Nirjhari’, an epic poetry collection based on the Uttar Ram Katha authored by the late Dr. Nanak Chand, at the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi Bhawan, Sector-14, Panchkula.  Addressing the present authors and literary figures, Dr. Agrawal said that by releasing the poetic work ‘Nirjhari’ based on the Sri Ramkatha which has always been a source of inspiration for writers and especially poets, he pays tribute to the late Dr. Nanak Chand Sharma. He praised ‘Nirjhari’, based on the Ramayana, as it not only represents literary characteristics but also beautifully highlights our advanced civilization, rich culture, and traditions. The first canto, ‘Vasantotsav’, provides a magnificent description of Lord Ram's kingdom.
