Brawl over iPhone 15 late delivery

Angered over their Apple iPhone 15 not being delivered on time they ordered, two customers went to a popular electronics store in North Delhi and beat up their employees. The incident took place at a Croma store in Roop Nagar’s Bunglow Road on Friday. A video has emerged on social media in which it can be seen that a fight has broken out between the customers and the employees of Croma Store in Kamla Nagar. The fight has been caught on camera and the video of the fight is doing rounds on social media. The incident took place on Friday has drawn attention due to the release of Apple’s iPhone 15 series in India.

The video reveals a heated exchange of punches and verbal insults between two customers. It is alleged that the fight erupted as the employees at the store refused to sell the iPhone 15 Pro to the customer to which the customer got furious and started to fight with the employee. It shows such was the customers' rage that even the intervention of over 10 other employees could not prevent their colleagues from being beaten up very badly.

At one point, the accused can be seen ganging up on one of the staff members. They rain blows on him and tear his t-shirt even as he tries to protect his head by looking down and putting his hands over it. Witnesses reported that tensions flared when the customer’s request for the iPhone 15 Pro was denied , leading to a furious outbreak and physical altercations.

According to Delhi police, they have arrested two customers and registered a case against them under sections of the Criminal Procedure Code pertaining to breach of peace.

“After receiving a PCR call about the incident, the police reached the showroom where they were told by the staff that the two accused -- Jaskirat Singh and Mandeep Singh -- had booked an iPhone-15 at the Croma centre, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said. Following the incident, preventive action under Section 107/151 of the Criminal Procedure Code was taken against the duo and both were arrested on Friday, the DCP said.

 The duo picked up a fight with the employee as the store failed to deliver their booked phone on Friday, the expected delivery date, Kalsi said.

Apple had launched the iPhone 15 Series in India and the phone was made available at stores in the country on Friday . Apple on Friday started selling the iPhone 15 series, which comes in the price range of Rs 79,900 to Rs 1,99,900. Apple has for the first time made available the 'made-in-India' iPhone on the same day it started selling the devices in the country and other parts of the globe.

Excitement was high among the iPhone users to upgrade their iPhone to 15 series. The customers lined up outside the stores where the phones were available to buy the phone. Videos also emerged on social media where huge crowds were seen outside the stores to buy the iPhone 15 series.

A long queue was witnessed out the Apple Store in BKC and also in New Delhi's Saket. One of the customer stated that he stood up for more than 8 hours to become the first person to buy iPhone 15 in Indi outside the BKC store.
