A 37-year-old BMC contractual employee got electrocuted in Jahangirabad area while removing a ball on the metal sheet roof of the neighbourhood with the help of an iron pipe.

After removing the ball, he lifted the pipe which brushed with the electric wire. Due to the wetness of the roof, he got electrocuted and stuck. Hearing the screams, the relatives reached and took him to the doctor where he was declared dead.

Residents have accused the power company of negligence.

They said  that complaints were made many times regarding the wire but action was never taken by the company.

According to the information, Jaswant Shravan of Bapu Colony Jahangirabad, was a contractual employee in the health department of Municipal Corporation.

On Sunday night, his five-year-old deaf and dumb son and niece were playing on the porch of the house when his ball went on the roof of the neighbour's metal roof.

The son called the father to get the ball. Yashwant pushed the ball out of his roof with the help of an iron pipe.

He started pulling the pipe towards him. Meanwhile, the pipe touched the electric wire passing in front of the house.

Hearing the noise, the family members and neighbors rushed Jaswant to Charak Hospital. Where the doctors declared Yashwant dead.

Police have handed over the dead body to the family members after getting PM done.

The residents have accused the MPEB of being negligent. Residents claimed that the wire was asked to be changed several times, but it was not changed. Even before this, three incidents have happened. A complaint was also made in writing for this, but there was no action.
