The Manatu block BJP ST cell president Permode Singh Chero has been murdered.
He has been strangulated to death but to pass it as death by suicide he was hanged from a branch of Palash tree. His body was found hanging which was brought down today in the early morning.
SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha said "It's a murder. It is no death by hanging or by suicide. The man was first murdered and then hanged to cover up the murder."
SP went on to say "The deceased had more enemies than expected. He had a land dispute and had enemies there. He had a brawl over the Chhath ghat and here he had a good many people hostile and inimical to him."
There is no political angle of his murder but a straight fall out of his own earned or incurred enmity with others.
More than a dozen people have been named accused of this murder by the family of the deceased in the FIR.
Officer in charge of the Manatu police station Kamlesh Kumar said the deceased had a minor knife mark on his abdomen which could have been more to frighten him as he looked to have been gagged to death by gamchha.
