State Bharatiya Janata Party today celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day at the booth level in the state. Thousands of party workers paid homage to Atal ji at their respective booths.
Seminars and poetry recitals based on the personality and works of revered Atal ji were organized in all 27 organizational districts and 513 divisions. Service work, distribution of fruits and blankets were also done by party workers at many places.
While addressing the seminar organized by Dhanbad Metropolitan BJP, State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi paid tribute by garlanding the statue of Atal ji in Dhanbad.
Addressing the seminar, Marandi said that respected Atal ji always remained firm towards his goals and ideas.
He said that Atal ji dreamed of a developed and self-respecting India. For this he laid emphasis on good governance, which is directly related to the reach of development to the last person. He paved the way for Antyodaya through good governance.
Marandi said that Atal ji reduced the distance between cities and villages through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The Golden Quadrilateral Scheme led to the revival of major highways of the country including the GT Road. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan removed the shortage of resources in basic education.
He said that Atal ji not only created a separate state but also created separate ministries for the rapid development of the tribal society, included Santhali language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
He said that Atal ji increased the self-respect and pride of the country with development programmes. Under the pressure of developed countries, the nuclear test pending for years was realized in Pokhran.
He said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who defeated Pakistan in the Kargil war, never compromised on national security. Today, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is rapidly taking forward the work of Atal ji.
While offering flowers on the portrait of revered Atal ji in the state BJP office, State Organization General Secretary Karmaveer Singh said that the name of a patriot and a great personality is Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Such a personality who is a skilled organizer, a far-sighted politician, an enemy of the unknown, a poet, a writer, and a dynamic speaker is rarely born.
Singh said that Atal ji did whatever he said. The people of Jharkhand can never forget him. As soon as he became Prime Minister, he realized his years-old dream of a separate state.
Singh said that his speeches, his poems make him alive. Atal ji is not physically present in the world but his personality can be seen in his creations.
BJP State Organization General Secretary Karmaveer Singh, Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, Metropolitan District President KK Gupta and others paid homage at the statue of Atal ji located in the Assembly complex.
