The district BJP burnt an effigy of local MLA Shashi Bhusan Behera demanding that the State Government take stern legal action against him and his son after Behera's daughter-in-law levelled charges of domestic violence and dowry torture against the father-son duo. The party also demanded his resignation from MLA post.
BJP leader Dillip Kumar Das said it’s unfortunate that Kendrapada MP Anubhav Mohanty had been defamed for torturing his actress-wife first while now the local MLA is defamed and that too for torturing his daughter-in-law. It brings to the fore the hollowness of the tall claim of the BJD Government of according Maa Ku Samman'.
Former BJP district president Duryodhan Sahu said the Chief Minister should suspend Shashi Bhusan forthwith and get him and his son arrested.
