The 11th Conference of the Bihar & Jharkhand Chapter of the Anatomical Society of India (BJASI) was hosted by the Department of Anatomy, Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), Jamshedpur, on 27 and 28 October.
The event was graced by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Director & CEO, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi as Chief Guest, Dr. G Pradeep Kumar, Dean, MTMC, Dr. Birendra K Sinha, President, and Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Secretary, BJASI, Dr. Sadeesh T, Organizing Chairman and Dr. Abhilasha Priya, Organizing secretary.
An elegant inaugural ceremony with lamp lighting and the release of the souvenir marked the beginning of the two-day scientific fiesta attended by more than 100 delegates from all medical colleges of Bihar and Jharkhand. The conference has been accredited with 8 credit hours by the Bihar Council of Medical Registration.
Themed ‘Anatomia Ultra Claustra’ (Anatomy Beyond Barriers), it aimed to explore the various avenues that the grand old man of medicine, Anatomy, finds application and relevance in, well beyond its usually understood scope merely as a plain and static factual compendium detailing the structure of the human body. There were deliberations by eminent anatomists, Dr. Mugunthan, Dr. Josheph, Dr. Ranjit Guha, Dr. Adil Asghar, Dr. Prajna P Samanta, Dr. Kumari Sandhya, and Dr. Hironmoy. Several scientific sessions by esteemed speakers on topics like evidence-based anatomy, 3D printing and creating models, and translational research in Anatomy were a part of the conference. More than 50 delegates had oral and poster presentations.
The event concluded on the 28 October with a valedictory function presided over by Dr. Rajiva Dwivedi, Dr Vinay AV, Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Dr. Sadeesh T, and Dr. Abhilasha Priya. The 1st and 2nd prize winners of oral and poster presentations were awarded. All the esteemed resource faculties were also honored. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Anuja who expressed her gratitude to all delegates for their valuable presence and wholehearted participation. With the national anthem, the program was concluded.
