A quarterly review meeting of the Corporate Level Official Language Implementation Committee was organized on Thursday at BCCL Headquarters Koyla Bhavan. The meeting was presided over by the chairman of the committee and CMD of BCCL, Samiran Dutta. At the beginning of the meeting, Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Personnel) welcomed the Chairman and CMD BCCL by presenting him a book. After this, after the formal welcome address by the General Manager (Personnel and Official Language) Bidyut Saha, review of implementation of official language in all areas of BCCL and departments of Koyla Bhavan Headquarters was done. During the review, the CMD praised the departments and areas for better implementation of official language and directed the departments that did not perform as expected to use Hindi more and more.
While addressing the meeting, in his presidential address, CMD Samiran Dutta said that all the programs and activities related to the implementation of official language in BCCL are happening on schedule, it is a matter of pleasure. The condition of Hindi correspondence in the company is encouraging but still we should be determined to do better continuously. We should make maximum use of Hindi in Hindi correspondence as well as in note-writing and noting-drafting. Along with the official language of the Union, Hindi is also the identity of our country.
Addressing the gathering, Director (Personnel) Murali Krishna Ramaiah said that indifference in implementation of official language from any sector or department is not acceptable. In the coming month, the official language related inspection of BCCL will be done by the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language. We will have to use official language Hindi as per the official language policy of the Union, following all norms and rules in official work.
Hindi implementation for the January-March quarter was reviewed in the meeting at Koyla Bhawan Headquarters and all areas of BCCL. During this, Bastakola area at regional level and Manpower and Planning Department at departmental level were honored with 'Chal Vaijayanti Shield' for better official language implementation.
The meeting was conducted and the vote of thanks was done by Manager (Official Language) Dilip Kumar Singh. During this, he informed that about 300 personnel were trained in BCCL by organizing 9 official language workshops in the last quarter. BCCL's in-house magazine "Koyla Bharti" will be published in the coming quarter and the employees whose articles and works will be published in this magazine will also be honored with cash.
