After being carved out from the Vinoba Bhave University the Binod Bihari Mahto Koylaanchal University (BBMKU) was awarded three colleges for betterment of the higher education system here in Dhanbad but unfortunately even after seven years of its establishment things are yet to improve.
The university took admission in three new colleges though buildings still not handed over to it.
Out of the three colleges one is located at Gomia in Bokaro district and two in Dhanbad located at Jharia and Tundi blocks respectively .
The university has taken admission through CUET and Chancellors portal for four year graduation session 23-27 under new education policy in these colleges. But unfortunately till date barring the posting of principals no other teacher / staff have yet been posted.
Talking to The Pioneer principal of Gomia College Dr Sarita Srivastava confirmed the admission of around 550 students in different streams and added that the college still waits for posting of regular teachers in different subjects.
Dr Srivastava said , the building has yet not been handed over to university authorities and as soon as building comes up we would start looking for other facilities as well.
Almost the same situation is there at Jharia and Tundi colleges as well.
Dr Srivastav said BBMKU is willing to post teachers but probably due to extra pressure from Raj Bhavan is not doing so. She sighted the stay order of Rajbhawan in transfer of Principal of SSLNT women's college as an instance . "Who knows who would move to Rajbhawan to stay on transfer if the university transfers any teacher to either of the three newly established degree colleges," she quipped.
However, she hoped that things would improve very soon.
