'Swarna Prashan' was administered to children at the Government Ayurveda College Hospital in Raipur to boost their immunity.
On every Pushya Nakshatra Hindu calendar day, children in the age group zero to 16 years are given 'Swarna Prashan' at the hospital.
The drive is conducted from 9 am to 3 pm in the pediatrics department.
This year 831 children were administered the medicine on January 9. 1,124 on February 4, another 1,137 on March 3 and 1,290 on March 29.
An official communiqué said ‘Swarna Prashan’ medicine is very beneficial in boosting immunity of children, protecting them from respiratory and other diseases as well as in improving concentration and memory power.
It also helps in the physical and mental development of the children.
Children will be further be given 'Swarna Prashan' on Pushya Nakshatra dates on May 24, June 20, July 18, August 14, September 10, October 7, November 4, December 1 and December 29, the communiqué said.
