Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) state President Amit Jogi on Monday filed his nomination papers from Patan assembly seat, the home turf of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, for elections next month.
Amit Jogi is a son of Ajit Jogi, a former Chief Minister and founder of regional JCC (J).
“I have filed my nomination today from Patan. This election is not against Bhupesh (Baghel) but ‘corruption’. This is an election of a powerful Dau (rich farmer) family versus the rights of the poor, SC-ST, Most Backward Classes of Patan,” Amit Jogi said.
"I am just a face, but the real candidates are residents of Patan, who are victims of corruption of the Congress government in the state," he said.
“I had the option of winning from the ‘safe’ seat in three assemblies, I could have contested from two seats also but I have decided to contest from Patan alone on the request of the people of Patan," Jogi added..
