The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under the celebrations of its 47th Foundation Day is organising various programmes and activities at its premises from 21 to 23, 2023.
Dr Surya Kumar Pandey, Assistant Curator of the museum informed that the inauguration ceremony of the program will be held on March 21, 2023 at 6:00 pm in the veethi sankul premises.
The exhibition of the ' Tukana-Tukani: Saga of Basketry Traditions in India, will be inaugurated, After that, the foundation day will be started by lighting the traditional 1001 lighted lamp 'Al-Vilakku' of Kerala, at Veethi Sankul premises of the Manav Sangrahalaya on March 21, 2023. After this, in the festival of regional cultures, On the occasion on March 21 from 11.30 a.m. display cum sale of art and craft items and from 1.30 p.m. the Traditional Cuisine will be available for the visitors in the Veethi Complex of Museum.
On March 22, from11.30am exhibition cum sale of art and craft items, and from 1.30 pm traditional dishes for the audience along with this in the reference library at 03 pm A book exhibition and bibliography on Bmboo Craft will be inaugurated. and at 04 pm The 18th Annual IGRMS Lecture will be organized at Rock Art Bhawan in which former Vice Chancellor of Delhi University Professor P.C. Joshi will give a lecture on the topic Tribe, Caste and Nation: A Critique, after that from 7pm presentations of performing arts in Veethi Sankul Bhavan premises.
On March 23 from 11.30 am Display cum sale of art and craft items and from 1.30 pm traditional food for the audience and at 4 pm A special lecture give by Prof. A, K Das, former director of Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Museum and Library New Delhi.Topic: Bamboo in the culture of northEast India Will be given in the Rock Art Bhavan of the Museum and from 7pm presentation of performing arts in the Veethi Sankul premises.
