The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) organized the 9th edition of FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards in a glittering ceremony held at Dr Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi on November 29, 2023. These awards are aimed at recognizing and honoring institutions and individuals who have achieved unparalleled excellence in higher education in India.

The awards are given in five categories, viz. excellence in employment generation; social responsibility; globalization; research, innovation and entrepreneurship; and University of the Year.

AIIMS Bhopal was adjudged as the ‘Emerging University of the Year for the year 2023’, by a highly acclaimed jury following an extremely competitive contest across institutions belonging to a wide spectrum of disciplines.

The award is recognition of the high standards of academic programs, faculty development activities, research facilities and output, governance, infrastructure and social outreach that the institute has established in the short span of around 10 years.

It was highly appreciated that along with technical education, the institute lays strong emphasis on orienting its students in medical humanities and communication skills, experiential learning, research methodology and community-centric approach.

This model of holistic development of students and faculty members was recognized as an essential instrument in grooming the healthcare professionals of tomorrow. This prestigious award ceremony was a part of the two-day FICCI Higher Education Summit which is being celebrated in the national capital on November 29 and 30 2023 with the theme of ‘Empowering Minds, Driving Transformation: Redefining the future of higher education’. Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Dr Ajai Singh expressed happiness over this achievement and thanked all the employees of the institute.
