AAP protests against Sisodia’s arrest in excise policy case

Tuesday, 28 February 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Monday protested against the BJP leaders in Dehradun on the arrest of Delhi deputy chief minister and senior party leader Manish Sisodia by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy 2021-22. The party leaders claimed that BJP is playing dirty politics and openly exhibiting dictatorship by sending Sisodia to jail in a false case. Several AAP leaders on Monday first gathered at AAP’s state office in Dharampur and then marched towards BJP’s office while shouting slogans against BJP leaders. The AAP had planned to gheraoed the BJP office but the police stopped them from entering the premises, said the party’s spokesman for Garhwal division, Ravindra Anand. He said that the BJP has stooped very low in playing dirty games in the name of politics just to maintain its power but the public knows what AAP is truly capable of and they will respond to it. He said that AAP have full faith in Indian law and order and Sisodia will be out soon because the CBI does not have any facts or evidence to prove the allegations. The vice president of the party in the State, RP Raturi said that AAP leaders and members are not afraid of the Enforcement Directorate or CBI or even going to jail as the party has always stood against corruption and injustice and would continue to do so. AAP leaders said that Sisodia has been sent on CBI remand till March 4 by court but he will definitely be proved innocent of all the charges against him as all the charges are baseless.
