Three persons, including a minor girl, were killed and four others sustained critical injuries as a truck hit a bus by which they were travelling at Chandiposh here early on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as bus driver Anupam Vivek Lakra, Satya Prakash Nayak of Rourkela, who was a bus owner, and a 12-year-old girl.
According to reports, the ill-fated vehicle was heading towards Rourkela from Bhubaneswar. The bus was parked near a dhaba when the speeding truck hit it at around 4 am.
Satya Prakash and the minor girl died on the spot. The injured ones, including the mother of the girl, were initially rushed to the Rourkela Government Hospital and later shifted to the Jaiprakash Hospital here as their conditions deteriorated.
Anupam succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
