A total of 121 nominations were filed for 7 assembly constituencies of Bhopal district on the last day on Monday; independent nominations would disturb the victory of candidates filed by two main political parties of the state.
Brother of Arif Aqil, Aamir filed nomination against Congress candidate Atif who is son of Bhopal North MLA Arif Aqil. Congress leader Nasir Islam has also submitted the form from the same area. Former Huzoor MLA Jitendra Daga has also filed nomination.
BJP candidates Alok Sharma from Bhopal North, Bhagwan Das Sabnani from South-West and Vishnu Khatri from Berasia filed nominations. Earlier, Congress candidate from Central Arif Masood arrived with a procession of his supporters to file nomination again. Congress candidates Ravindra Sahu from Govindpura and Naresh Gyanchandani from Huzur also filed nomination again. Atif Akil arrived from the North with a large procession to file nomination. Atif, who came to submit nomination for the second time, was accompanied by his father MLA Arif Aqeel in an open jeep.
On Monday final tally remained at 17 nomination papers for Berasia assembly seat of Bhopal district, 22 for Bhopal North, 14 for Narela, 16 for Bhopal South-West, 21 for Bhopal Central, 19 for Govindpura assembly and 12 for Huzur assembly returning officers.
When Congress leader Jitendra Daga came to submit the nomination form for Huzur assembly constituency, the police inspector posted there folded his hands like this.
Congress leader Nasir Islam arrived to file nomination from Bhopal North Assembly constituency. MLA Arif Aqil went in an open jeep to file the nomination of his son Atif. Jitendra Daga of Congress arrived from Huzoor Assembly constituency to fill the form. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Naresh Gyanchandani also reached there to submit his nomination again. Congress has fielded Naresh Gyanchandani from Huzur Assembly, while former MLA Jitendra Daga was also contesting. Daga has filed nomination as an independent candidate. Before going to submit the form, he held a meeting with supporters at his residence.
Congress candidates Jai Shri Harikiran from Berasia, Atif Akil from Bhopal North, Manoj Shukla from Narela, PC Sharma from South-West, Arif Masood from Central, Ravindra Sahu from Govindpura and Naresh Gyanchandani from Huzoor submitted their forms. From BJP, Rameshwar Sharma from Huzoor, Krishna Gaur from Govindpura, Vishwas Sarang from Narela and Dhruvnarayan Singh from Madhya submitted their nominations.
Vishwas Sarang had reached SDM office on scooter to file nomination. At the same time, Rameshwar Sharma had come to file nomination after paying obeisance at the Hanuman temple.
A total of 2086569 voters of 7 assembly constituencies of Bhopal will cast their votes in the elections. There are 27000 voters over 80 years and above, while there will be wheelchair arrangements at every polling station for 8000 disabled voters. Bringing elderly and disabled voters from their homes also There will be arrangements to go.
Of the total voters in the district, there are 1074376 male voters and 1011681 female voters and 174 are others i.e. third gender. Govindpura has the highest number of voters, 392905. At the same time, Bhopal South-West has the least number of voters at 231849.
