A total of 102 ticket less travellers were caught and fined worth rupees 39,850 during the massive ticket checking led by the chief inspector of tickets B M Pandey and his team consisting of Kumar Ajay, R P Singh, R K Dubey, B Yadav, Shashikant Kumar along with the contingent of the RPF today.
Sources said surprise ticket checking in express and passenger trains is done at regular intervals where the TTEs ask the passengers not to travel without a proper journey ticket and also with not the intention to dodge the railway officials.
Sources said there are unique ways to travel without tickets in trains like Garib Rath Delhi to Ranchi and vice versa.
The ticketless travellers in this train first befriend the bed roll person of the coach and then in his cubicle travel wrapping blanket etc only to get down at the desired railway station.
Sources said parents do not buy tickets for their children above 5 years of age and thus on being caught have to pay a fine. Some parents are genuinely ignorant but the majority of the parents know about it but try to take a chance to get their kids above 5 years to travel without tickets.
