‘Mukhiyas doing excellent work will be honoured’

On the occasion of the foundation day of the Jharkhand State Food Commission on December 09, the Mukhiyas who have done excellent work in the successful implementation and monitoring of the National Food Security Act-2013 in all the districts of Jharkhand state will be honoured. The information was given today by the Chairman of the Food Commission, Himanshu Shekhar Chaudhary in the meeting organized in the meeting room of the Commission's office on Tuesday. He informed that criteria will be set for the selection of Mukhiyas for the first, second and third prizes of the districts.

Chaudhary said that the Mukhiya has an important role in better implementation and better monitoring of the schemes covered by the National Food Security Act-2013. With the aim of making all the heads of the state aware of their responsibilities, the Food Commission has decided to honour the heads of all the districts of the state.

After detailed discussion in the meeting, a total of 08 criteria were fixed for the selection of the Chief doing excellent work. On the basis of these parameters, the headman who is in the first, second and third place at the district level is to be selected. It has also been decided in the meeting that on the basis of the work done by the chiefs during the period between October 2022 and September 2023, the district level selection committee will select three excellent chiefs.

It was also decided in the meeting that a selection committee will be formed in all the districts to award marks on the basis of prescribed criteria for honouring the head. Additional Collector-cum-District Grievance Redressal Officer will be the chairman of the selection committee. While District Panchayati Raj Officer, District Public Information Officer, apart from these, two prominent social workers working in schemes related to National Food Security Act, who will be nominated by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district, will be members.

Chaudhary said that the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts should be directed to complete the selection process and make available the list of first, second and third rank chiefs to the commission by November 15, 2023.

The meeting was attended by Food Commission Member Shabnam Parveen, Member Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Former Commission Member Upendra Narayan Oraon, Ramkaran Ranjan, Former State Advisor to Supreme Court Commissioner Balram, Former Vice Chancellor, Vinova Bhave University Hazaribagh Ramesh Sharan and representatives were present.
