With the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners and participants of various competitions, the World Heritage Week concluded on Saturday at Gurudham Mandir premises here.
With an objective to preserve our heritage, various programmes were organised from November 19 to 25 under World Heritage Week under which the exhibition of photographs, painting and documentation evidences were held in the colleges and schools of the district.
The exhibition, seminar, workshop, etc programmes were organised in Gurudham Mandir, Sunbeam College and other places. Besides, the painting competition, debate based on Ganga Katha film, poster competition based on search my heritage, etc were also organised. About 1000 students of different colleges and schools participated in these programmes. The winners of the competitions were rewarded and certificates were given to the participants in the closing ceremony held on Saturday in Gurudham Mandir premises by the chief guest Padma Sri Shiv Nath Mishra who made emphasis on the organisation of such programmes to preserve not only tangible heritage but also intangible heritage specially musical heritage. A cultural programme was also held in the closing ceremony.
The regional archaeological officer Dr Subhash Chandra Yadav welcomed the guests and Ashok Kapoor offered the vote of thanks, while Prashant Rai conducted it.
