UNDP, niti aayog host ‘LIFEathon’
New Delhi: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the NITI Aayog hosted ‘LIFEathon’, a hybrid hackathon with young people from across the world to contribute ideas and innovations to promote sustainable living and climate positive behaviour – as part of the Government of India’s Mission LiFE. The LiFE campaign aims to bring individual action to the forefront of climate action. These nudges are as small as encouraging individuals to consume less plastic, waste less food, and prefer public transport. Mission LiFE was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and UN Secretary-General Mr. Antonio Guterres in Gujarat last year. The hackathon was inaugurated by UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner and NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Suman Bery in the presence of UNDP India Resident Representative Shoko Noda and Mission Director LiFE, NITI Aayog Yugal Joshi.
Preparations for G-20 meeting in gurugram
Gurugram: The preparations for organising the G-20 Summit meeting of the anti-corruption working group from March 1 to 4, 2023 in Gurugram are gaining momentum. Arrangements have been made for displaying Haryanvi Culture from IGI Airport, Delhi to Leela Hotel Gurugram to welcome the delegates, officials said on Monday. The Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal along with Director General of Police Haryana, P. K Agrawal on Monday reviewed the preparations for the G-20 meeting of the Anti Corruption Working Group. The necessary directions have also been given to officers. Kaushal said that the foreign delegates would experience India's warm welcome tradition of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' and the spirit of Haryana's rich cultural heritage.
HP Governor undergoes angioplasty
Noida: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Monday underwent an angioplasty for an artery blockage at a hospital. Shukla (70) was admitted to privately-run Kailash Hospital around midnight following complaint of chest pain, hospital spokesperson V B Joshi said He is in Delhi-NCR since Saturday on a visit during which he paid courtesy calls on President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Home Minister Amit Shah, and others.
