Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel while dedicating the mobile medical van under the ‘Sansad Swasthya Seva’ scheme to the public in a programme organised at Patel Chowk on Sunday said the government is doing a lot in the health sector but people’s cooperation is a must for the success of health schemes. She said the medical van was equipped with testing kits, medicines etc and medical staff, including a MBBS doctor, nurse, pharmacist and technical staff will be available on it. She told it will work five days a week and will move throughout the district to make available medical facilities at the doorstep of the needy. She appealed to the people to provide full cooperation to avail the facility. She thanked Gas Authority of India which made available the facility through its CSR scheme. She flagged off the van in the presence of dignitaries, including MLAs Ratnakar Mishra, Dr Vinod Bind and Rinki Kol, Chairman Cooperative Bank Dr Jagdish Singh Patel, Chairman Nagar Palika Parishad Mirzapur Shyam Sundar Keshari and others.
ARRESTED: The Santnagar police arrested six accused of theft and recovered 13 batteries from their possession. Giving details to the media at the Police Lines on Sunday, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP/ Operation) OP Singh said Ajay Gupta, a supervisor in a company, had lodged a case at the Santnagar police station on October 5 stating that 24 batteries had been stolen from a tower located in Pandariya village. He said during investigation the police team found a clue and raided a house located in Dubar market under Lalganj police station. The suspects who were taken into custody during interrogation confessed their involvement in the theft of batteries. The accused said they were involved in the theft of batteries in Sonbhadra too. On their identification the police recovered 13 batteries along with ` 23,300 cash. The police seized a vehicle which was being used to transport the stolen goods. After completing the legal formalities the police sent the accused identified as Raju Patel of Gopalpur under Madihan police station, Anmol Maurya, Harendar Kumar, Suraj Maurya, Om Kumar and Raju of Patar Kaka village under police station Lalganj to jail
Meanwhile the Dehat Kotwali police arrested an accused of rape on Sunday. On October 26 a woman in a named FIR alleged that the accused had physical relation with her after promising marriage. She said when she pressurised him to marry, he refused to do, threatened of dire consequences and raped her. After registering the case SHO Shailesh Rai formed a team to nab the accused who was arrested on Sunday. After completing the legal formalities the police sent him to jail.
In another case the Dehat Kotwali police arrested an accused of theft and recovered entire stolen goods on Sunday. Chhatrapal Singh of Ramaipatti under City Kotwali police station had lodged a case on October 28 that iron pipes had been stolen from his workshop located at Bharuhna. After registering the case the police arrested the accused Dheeraj Kumar of Bharuhna under Dehat Kotwali police station and recovered the stolen godos from his possession. The police sent the accused to jail.
COUPLES REUNITE: Under Project Milan programme five couples who were living separately over petty issues got reunited at the Family Counselling Centre (FCC) located at Police Lines on Sunday. The FCC has been set up by the police to settle disputes between the couples. After several sittings the centre succeeded in getting five couples to live together, gave an emotional send-off to them and wished them a bright future. The entire process was carried out by inspector and FCC incharge Seema Singh. She was assisted sub-inspector Shashi Tiwari, head constable Savitri Yadav and her colleague Sunita.
