As the INDI Alliance leaders distinctly look divided over attending the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in January this year, Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, braving the heat of Enforcement Directorate investigations, has said that he will attend the ceremony if he gets an invitation.
“If I get an invitation for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony to be held on January 22, 2024 in Ayodhya, I will definitely attend the programme. We do not believe in the politics of religion, we believe in politics of development and benefits for all. I am a person who goes to a temple, a mosque, Gurudwara and also goes to a Church. If I get a chance to go to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, I will definitely go there. However, I have not received an invitation for the event,” said Soren, talking to media persons here on Thursday.
Notably, Trinamool Congress has cleared that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and no other party leader will attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechuri has also rejected the invitation. Congress is yet to take a decision, while some of the alliance leaders have said to be attending the event.
Meanwhile, talking about the selection of a PM’s face in INDIA alliance, Soren said that the Opposition parties’ alliance does not need a PM’s face.
