Under the leadership of district president of Congress (Law Cell) Lokesh Singh, on the call of state vice-president to the cell Ashok Kumar Singh, submitted a memorandum to the ADM (City) here on Wednesday for forwarding the same to the Governor in protest against the police lathicharge on advocates in Hapur. In their four-point memorandum, the Congress demanded that the police lathicharge should be investigated by a currently serving judge of the High Court. They also demanded that legal action should be ensured by registering an FIR against the police personnel involved in the lathicharge incident.
Besides, they demanded financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the injured advocates while providing them proper medical treatment and implementation of Advocate Protection Act in the state. State vice-president Ashok Kumar Singh warned that if the demands are not met soon, then Congress (Law Cell) will hold a massive protest in the entire UP for which Yogi government will be responsible.
Among others who were also present in the delegation were Sanjay Singh, Krishnanand Singh, Sanjay Mishra, Chegvebara Raghuvanshi, Ritesh Bahadur Singh, Vijay Bahadur Singh, Umeshchandra Singh, Mahajan Yadav, Abhay Kumar Singh, Rajesh Kumar Rai, Ramashankar Gupta, Kaushal Sharma, Chandan Singh, Ashok Kumar and Virendra Kumar Pandit.
