District Magistrate Divya Mittal while addressing the media at Chunar Fort on Tuesday said to highlight the tourist spots of Chunar the administration will hold the three-day Chunar Mahotsav from July 7 to 9 under the banner of UP Vindhya Dhaam Teerth Vikas Parishad Meerjapur. She said the three-day programme will highlight special features related to Chunar which will include presentation of folk song Alha, programme based on life of Bhartrihari, Pauranik and historic facts about Chunar etc. She said an exhibition of local products of the district like crockery of Chunar, carpet, durrie and brass products of the district, toys of Ahraura, products from SHGs etc will be held.  She said cultural programnes will be organised at Balughat and light and sound show will be held at Sonwa Mandap located at Chunar Fort.

Later the DM held a meeting with chairman, members of Chunar Nagar Palika and appealed to people to make the event successful which was being organised to bring the place on the world map of tourism.

SEIZED: Taking into cognisance a viral video the City Kotwali police seized three vehicles under the MV Act and arrested some persons on Tuesday. Pradeep Yadav alias Mani Yadav of Bisundarpur under City Kotwali police station had got bail in a murder case. After getting bail Pradeep reached his residence on Monday along with a long caravan of vehicles disturbing the traffic.

Taking the matter seriously the police registered a case, formed a team led by SHO City Kotwali Arvind Mishra and arrested Harsh Tiwari of Beltar under Katra Kotwali police station,  Prashu Yadav of Shuklaha under Katra Kotwali police station, Deepak Maurya of Lallaghat under Katra Kotwali police station, Ayush Yadav of Purani Dashami under Katra Kotwali police station, Pradeep Yadav of Bhujawa Ki Chauki under Dehat Kotwali police station, Om Prakash Sonkar of Bisundarpur under City Kotwali police station, Abhishek Mishra of Belkhariya Ka Pura under Katra Kotwali police station, Atul Yadav of Belkhariya Ka Pura under Katra Kotwali police station and caught a juvenile offender. The main accused Mani Yadav was still at large, last reports received here said. Besides three vehicles were seized under MV Act.
