Benefits of chanting God's name

Chanting God’s name can bring down physical and psychological issues

Even as there is a call by atheists and Dravidians to abolish Sanatana Dharma, a team of medical researchers in Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalaya at Ramnadhi, Goa, has come out with findings that chanting God’s name can play a major role in bringing down physical and psychological issues.

Dr Jayant Athavale, founder of Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalaya, himself a clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and his team of researchers have scientifically proved that chanting God’s name would attract enormous positive energy towards the individual and prevent the flow of incorrect and impure thoughts to the mind and helps overcome destiny.

Dr Athavale says that a study using the GDV Technique ( a computer registration and analysis of electro-photonic emissions of biological objects, specifically the human fingers, resulting from placing the object in the high-intensity electromagnetic field on the device lens) showed that chanting of God's name for just 40 minutes brought about the alignment of one’s Kundalini Chakras.

Dr Nandini Samant, senior faculty of MAV says that these findings have the potential to resolve issues like autism and other mental disorders. “For that we have to take this result forward but I am sure that there is a strong possibility of finding a cure for such defects through this process,” said Dr Samant.

Sean Clarke, a senior scientist in the team said that the chanting could be performed by people irrespective of their religion, caste and creed. Dr Athavale has already established that implementing the Personality Defect Removal (PDR) process could help in reducing impressions of Personality Defects in the subconscious mind.

Clarke, formerly of the Indian Navy, said that the main spiritual problems are destiny, departed ancestors in the afterlife and negative energies in the subtle world account for more than 50 per cent of the problems one encounters in life including physical ailments. Dr Athavale’s research spanning more than four decades has proved that these defects caused by negative energy could be addressed by daily chanting of God’s name.

According to Clarke, the impact of departed ancestors in one’s life has been established. The Tarpan (Pitru Tarpan) is performed to propitiate the departed souls. “That is what Sanatana Dharma teaches us. For those believing in departed ancestors, the chanting has proved to be a blessing,” said Clarke.

Milky Agarwal, a member of the research team summed up the findings: “Practicing spirituality as per the University principles and making sustained efforts for eradicating personality defects and ego, we can overcome the problems in our life and we can experience lasting happiness”.

The research also found that dipping the feet in salt water for 15 minutes daily would help extract the black energy present in the body. “A measurement of the intensity of negative energy showed that negative aura was reduced to half after dipping the feet in salt water while water in the bucket acquired a negative aura after 15 minutes,” said Clarke. The finding was presented as a scientific paper at the International Conference on Emotional Well-Being held at Middlesex University, Mauritius in July 2023.
