The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) is conducting a selection trial for first and second rifle and pistol shooting from March 8 to 30 at the State Shooting Academy.
Under this 50 meter rifle prone individual senior matches were played.
In an Individual 50m Rifle Prone Men's Senior M.P. State Shooting Academy's shooter Goldie Gurjar came second. He scored 622.7 marks. In this event Swapnil Suresh Kusale of Railways stood first and Parul Kumar of Air Force stood third. Both secured 623.4 and 619.1 marks respectively.
Similarly, in the women's individual 50m rifle prone event, MP. Zainab Hussain Bandukwala of State Shooting Academy stood first. She scored 621.5 marks. Similarly, Academy shooter Sunidhi Chauhan secured the third position with 620.9 marks. Punjab's player Swift Kaur Samra came second. She scored 621.2 marks.
Final matches will be played in Men's Senior, Junior and Youth category in 10m Rifle Trial-1 on March 15. Final matches will be played in Women's Senior and Junior category in Women's 25m Pistol Trial-1.
Meanwhile, All India Civil Services Lawn Tennis Competition is being organized from March 3 to 14 at Lake Sports Complex, Chandigarh. In this competition, Lawn Tennis player from Madhya Pradesh, Anjali Verma along with her partner Rohit Rawat won the gold medal by defeating the player pair of Maharashtra in Mix Doubles.
This is the first time that State's player has won all the three gold medals in the Women's Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles of the Civil Services Lawn Tennis Competition. Anjali Verma is the Vikram Awardee player of the year 2013 and she is working in the ministry on the post of Assistant Grade-3.
Anjali Verma has earned more than 25 medals by participating in more than 50 national competitions.
State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia praised Anjali Verma for her excellent performance in the All India Civil Services Competition and congratulated her on winning the gold medal in all the three categories of Lawn Tennis.
