Woman held for killing daughter

Thursday, 30 June 2022 | PNS | BALESWAR

The Baleswar Town police arrested a 35-year-old woman and forwarded her to court on the charge of killing her 13-year-old daughter by strangulation.

The arrested accused was identified as Baby Biwi , a resident of Machhua Sahi .

According to reports, after Baby’s daughter died, the locals suspected something fishy as the accused couldn’t give any satisfactory reply as to how the incident occurred.

Subsequently, her former husband Sk Kutubuddin lodged a complaint with police alleging the daughter born out of their wedlock was killed by the accused in connivance with her present husband Abdul Rahim  .

He alleged that after their divorce Baby married Abdul Rahim and resided with two children (daughter and son) born out of their wedlock.

The police, after receiving a complaint,   began an investigation for the unnatural death of the minor. During interrogation Baby confessed to the crime and said that she strangled her daughter to death.

The police are investigating the role of Rahim, added reports.
