Three arrested with cannabis in Kabirdham

Chhattisgarh Police on Friday seized 69.51 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 4.77 lakhs and arrested three persons for transporting it to Madhya Pradesh from Odisha.

Kabirdham Additional Superintendent of Police Manisha Thakur Rawate identified them as Balbeer Singh Thakur (44), Ajay Kumar (19) and Sameer Manjhi (26).

The first two are from Sukma district while the third is from Odisha.

Police intercepted a car in a village following a tip that the contraband was being taken to Madhya Pradesh.

The cannabis was stuffed in five gunny bags under the bonnet.
