Under the 'Books to Friendship' program, a 'Story Telling' competition was organized among the students of class II in the pre-primary branch of DAV, Hazaribagh. In this competition, young participants presented lively in story-telling style of stories from many world-renowned books including Panchatantra, Akbar-Birbal, The Jungle Book, and Life Skill.
In the beginning of the program, the teacher in-charge of the junior branch, Pushpa Tiwari, welcomed the Principal by offering a bouquet. On this occasion, Principal of the school, Ashok Kumar, while encouraging the participants, advised them to read one short story every day. He said that these stories will show you the way forward. Story-telling is a teaching method that develops self-confidence among children.
Sampa Srivastava, in-charge of the pre-primary branch, said that stories are very important for the emotional development of young children and there is a need to develop the habit of reading them from childhood. Rigyashu, Sanjana, Shaurya, Preyasi, Shreya, Anya, Arnav, Prajika, Piyush, Yuvraj, Pritish and Viraj gave wonderful performances in the program. At the end of the program, all the participants were awarded with certificates.
