Noted psychologist Jyoti Pande said that stories have a therapeutic effect on our minds and can be used for making our lives easier and better.
She was speaking at a daylong storytelling workshop organised by Orange Owl, a mental wellness startup, in association with SoulKatha, a storytelling initiative, here on Sunday.
This was the second time, a workshop on story telling was conducted in Bhopal by the two collaborators. Jyoti Pande is a passionate storytelling, among other things, who has travelled the country, learning and honing her art.
There were teachers, parents and students among the14 participants. The workshop focussed on various aspects of storytelling like creating and narrating a story, story boarding, improvisation, applied theatre, mind and body exercises and public speaking.
Jyoti is an ardent Educationist and a practicing Psychologist. She is a passionate learner and recognizes the limitless potential of humans that can be explored and experienced for the betterment of society. Got trained by one of the pioneers in storytelling in the world, Geeta Ramanujan. Jyoti was a part of Federation of Asian Storytellers conference held in Singapore in November (2018) and Bangaluru (2019). She conducts training workshops on Storytelling, Happiness and Mindfulness for teachers, principals and for general population.
She is a happiness coach too who has been conducting such workshops on storytelling, happiness and mindfulness all over the country. She expressed her joy of being associated with Orange Owl and appreciated the work they have been doing in the field of Mental Wellness and education for the past 4 years. The workshop culminated with the distribution of certificates to the participants by the mentor.
