The State reported 4,843 new Covid-19 cases in the 30 districts and the State pool on Sunday, with which the total tally increased to 12,45,911.
Among the newly-infected were 663 children in the age group of 0 to18 years,
In the last 24 hours, 62,858 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 7.7 per cent.
The active cases stood at 53,090.
Of the new cases, 2,815 were reported from quarantine and 2,028 local contacts.
Khordha district reported the highest 1,023 cases followed by Sundargarh with 735, Cuttack 379, Nayagarh 194, Nuapada and Jajpur 166 each, Kalahandi 158, Baleswar 152, Mayurbhanj 152, Nabarangpur 137, Sambalpur 128, Jagatsinghpur 100, Rayagada 99, Balangir 95, Keonjhar 81, Bargarh: 80, Deogarh 73, Subarnapur 73, Puri 72, Kendrapada 70, Ganjam 67, Gajapati 62, Bhadrak 60, Jharsuguda 61, Angul 58, Kandhamal 52, Boudh 49, Dhenkanal 45, Koraput 50 and Malkangiri 18.
Besides, 188 cases were reported from the State pool.
As many as 19 more patients succumbed to the disease in the State, mounting the total death toll to 8,594.
Khordha district reported highest five deaths followed by Ganjam with three, Angul and Nabarangpur two each, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Puri one each.
However, the Health Department said, “This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of deaths has been identified as due to Covid-19.”
Capital Bhubaneswar registered 885 Covid cases, with which the total tally in the city rose to 1,50 988. The active cases were 12,111.
The city had recorded 876 cases on Saturday.
Four more patients died, taking the total toll to 1120 in the city.
