As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), ‘Iconic Week’ was celebrated under guidance of the Ministry of Steel during 4th – 10th July, 2022. SAIL Safety Organisation, Ranchi celebrated the occasion in a befitting manner by organizing two programmes to promote safety. In the first programme, a ‘Suraksha Manthan’ workshop was organised at MTI, Ranchi today in which Heads of Safety of all the plants & units of SAIL discussed and deliberated the issues & concerns and chalked out a way forward to achieve Zero Fatality. The workshop was inaugurated and chaired by Shri Asish Chakraborty, Executive Director (SSO) in the presence of CGMs & safety heads from all plants & units of SAIL.
In addition to this, a ‘Safety Awareness Programme for Women’ - including contractual women employees of Ranchi Based units of SAIL was organised at Ispat Bhavan on 8th March, 2022. Shri Chakraborty inaugurated this program also and highlighted the importance of safety in daily lives. Aditya Tigga, Tarun Kumar & Md. Amin from M/s Indian Oil Corporation (LPG Sales Unit) presented the nuances of Safety vis.a.vis. LPG. SSO gave practical inputs on Electrical Energy, Road Safety, Fire Safety etc. The programme was aimed at spreading safety awareness among cross-sections of employees and was attended by 70 participants.
A Painting Exhibition was organized to display paintings done by underprivileged children in Ispat Bhawan entrance with the simultaneous display of exhibition tableau. Today the Moving tableau was taken to Ormanjhi villages. In a program organized by Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI), villagers and around 30 elected representatives including Mukhiyas, Gram Pradhans, Ward members and Zila Parishad members attended the programme.
