A 35-year old shepherd was found brutally murdered in the forest area in Gunga late in the night on Friday; his head smashed with stone which was found from the spot.
Police said the body of the man, identified as Raghuveer Meena was found who was killed by smashing with stone. The victim used to work as a shepherd and lived in the Chanderi area.
According to police, the incident came to light when the local villagers spotted him in injured state and informed the police.
Police suspected that the deceased was killed by smashing his head or he might have probably killed and later smashed the head, so that he could not be identified. The circumstantial evidence suggests that the victim struggled to escape but the miscreants overpowered and killed him. The blood stained stone was found at the spot which was used to smash the head of the Raghuveer.
Family members claimed that the victim had gone to graze the animals and failed to return till night after which family members started search for him and found him dead in the forest.
Based on the information police have questioned a few suspects. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a class 1 student died after being hit by a school van of a private school while he was trying to cross a road in Malikhedi on Friday; Chola Mandir police have started an investigation. Seven year old student of Government School Malikhedi got injured after he came out of school for lunch along with other students.
He was hit around 1.30 in the afternoon and rushed to hospital in an injured state and died during treatment at 3 in the afternoon.
