Six bike-borne criminals carried out a robbery of Rs 40 lakh in Indian Bank near Gurudwara in Chas police station area here on Wednesday.
All the criminals were wearing masks, all the criminals had pistols, while two had country-made bombs in their hands. On entering the bank, the criminals injured the bank's security guard by hitting him in the forehead.
After that, locking the bank employees in the bathroom, they beat up the female cashier and the guard.
The locker was opened by taking the locker key from the cashier. After collecting all the cash from the locker, the criminals fled towards the ITI turn with the money kept in the cash counter.
On receiving information about the incident, Chas police station in-charge reached the spot with the force and recovered a live bomb kept inside the bank. At the same time, after this incident, Bokaro Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Jha, Headquarters DSP Mukesh Kumar, Chas SDPO Purushottam Kumar Singh also reached the spot and interrogated bank employees and also investigated CCTV.
The criminals had disconnected the CCTV cameras before entering the bank and badly injured the guard, who had been sent to a private hospital for treatment.
SP Chandan Kumar Jha said that about 40 lakh rupees have been looted. Police are investigating the matter. The picture of the criminals has also been received by the police and different teams have been deployed to search for the criminals. The SP said that some criminals were wearing masks. While some had their faces uncovered.
According to the information, when the criminals entered the bank, the number of customers was three to four. Taking advantage of the opportunity, criminals have carried out this incident.
