RRD sets record in freight loading in Financial Year 2021-22

The financial year 2021-22 has been a year of achievements in transporting goods by Ranchi Rail Division (RRD). The RRD has loaded a total of 3.54 million tonnes of goods in the financial year, which was 3.07 million tonnes in the last financial year 2020-21, hence 13.27 per cent more loading than the previous year.

And the Board has received revenue of Rs.244.4 crore and Rs 215.16 crore in the last financial year, so the division got 13.58 per cent more revenue from shipments than last year.

Addressing a press meet on Wednesday RRD Divisional Rail Manager, Pradeep Gupta said that it is also year of achievement in the field of sports for Nikki Pradhan and Salima Tete, International women hockey players of the Division, represented India in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and made the whole country proud not only from the Division but with their performance. For this achievement, both the women Olympians have been promoted to the post of OSD Sports Gazetted by South Eastern Railway (SER).

Gupta said that before the COVID transition, 66 pairs (Mail or Express – 48 pairs and Passenger – 18 pairs of trains operated from the Division, 43 pairs of Mail or Express, 12 pairs of passenger trains and 4 pairs of new trains  were operated by the division.  Total 59 pairs of trains operating from the Division, he added

The Division started operation of Train No. 08185/08186 new bi-weekly special train between Hatia – Durg with two pairs of new express trains respectively Train No. 18631/32 Ranchi - Chopan - Ranchi and Train No. 17321/22 Vasco -Da-Gama - Jasidih - Vasco-da-Gama was started and train number 18603/18604 Ranchi Bhagalpur Tri-Weekly Express train was extended up to Godda.

The DRM said that Ranchi and Hatia railway stations have been awarded the best 5 star rating based on an environmental performance based rating system as per the norms of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It also follows the standards of National Green Tribunal (NGT).

“Punctuality has always been the priority of Ranchi Railway Division, in the month of January, February, August and November of the year 2021, the Division stood first among the entire Indian Railways in terms of timeliness. The Division has secured the third position,” said Gupta. He further said that so far, 23 pairs of trains of the division have been converted into rakes, which will give a more comfortable and safer travel experience to the passengers than before and air conditioned first class coaches have been provided in more 4 pairs of trains of the division. 250 additional coaches were made available in various trains of the division, he added.

“In order to increase the speed of trains, Ranchi Division has removed 13 permanent speed restrictions, which has not only brought speed in the movement of trains but has also provided convenience to the road users at the Kataribagan Railway level crossing gate as they come to Ranchi station. And the outgoing trains clear the level crossing gate at the earliest,” said Gupta.
