BJP leader Ramaranjan Baliarsingh targeted his party for its defeat in Padampur by-election. Not taking anybody’s name, the former Satyabadi MLA condemned some leaders for their personal attack on his daughter in-law Barsha Singh Bariha by interfering in her family matters which resulted in an adverse impact on the Padampur voters.
Expressing his gladness for the win of his daughter-in-law, Baliarsingh said that his blessing was always with Barsha and would also remain with her for all times to come.
“I was severely pained the way some leaders of my party targeted Barsha during the election campaign. That also shocked Bariha's family and the voters of Padampur. It exerted an adverse impact on the Padmapur voters which might be a cause of the BJP's defeat,” told Baliarsingh to television channels after Barsha returned to her in-laws' house from Padmapur recently.
On Friday, Barsha received a ceremonial welcome from Baliarsingh when she reached Bhubaneswar from Padmapur with her husband. After getting his daughter in-law, Baliarsingh was found emotional and broke down while talking to channels.
He said that the way some of our leaders during campaigning directly targeted Barsha dragging her both families to unwanted rows really shocked him. They should not have done this as Barsha is the daughter of Padmapur and has every right to stand in the election, he said without taking anybody’s name from BJP engaged in the campaigning.
When asked, if he would like to return to BJD on Barsha insisting him for a homecoming, Baliarsingh replied, “I had quitted BJD and joined a national party inspired by Modi’s development works. I have no such proposal right now. Yet, I can’t forecast on tomorrow.”
Baliarsingh had quitted BJD in 2018 alleging firm negligence of his party to Satyabadi constituency over development works. Within a few days he had joined the BJP. He had participated in the campaigning for Dhamnagar by-election but refrained from doing so in Padmapur when Barsha was fielded as the BJD candidate.
