Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi will visit Chhattisgarh on February 3 to launch the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana’ (Scheme for Rural Landless Agriculture Labourers).
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted that Gandhi would launch the scheme at the Science College Ground, Raipur. He will also lay the foundation stone for the ‘Gandhi Sewagram’ at Nava Raipur.
In another tweet, Baghel said that Gandhi will also lay the foundation for an ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ in the state.
Baghel had launched the logo of the agriculture labourers scheme on September 8, 2021. The registration process was held from September 1 to November 30, 2021.
It will cover around 12 lakh rural landless agriculture labourers families with an annual assistance of Rs 6,000. It will be disbursed in three installments.
The first installment will be disbursed on the launch day through direct bank transfer.
