As all the private schools are closed due to the third wave of Covid-19 and the onset of Omicron virus, the teaching and nonteaching staffs of these schools of Rayagada are facing lots of financial stress.
The revenue for these schools mainly comes from the fees of students. As this has considerably decreased and in most cases has become zero, it has become extremely difficult to sustain the staffs of the schools, according to Rayagada District Private Schools’ Association secretary Sankar Rao.
In this context, association members under the leadership of president Rajesh Padhi have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through Additional District Education Officer Bhajanlal Majhi demanding reasonable special Government financial assistance to the staffs of the schools. They have further demanded to extend the NOC and Acceptance Letter for next five years.
The memorandum was submitted by directors of the private schools in the presence of the association’s president and secretary and coordinator Aswini Dash.
