Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has resolved that no poor of the state will live in a kuccha house. Every person will have his own Pucca house. Pucca houses will be provided to every person by the year 2024 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In the state work is going on at a rapid pace in this scheme to fulfill Chouhan’s resolve and it has brought good results also.
On March 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will get Griha Pravesh (virtual) performed for 5.21 lakh beneficiaries of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). So far, more than 24.10 lakh houses have been completed under this scheme in the state. Total 152 houses were completed under the scheme in the year 2016-17, 6.36 lakh in the year 2017-18, 6.79 lakh in the year 2018-19, 2.71 lakh in the year 2019-20, 2.60 lakh in the year 2020-21 and more than 5.41 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas have been completed in the year 2021-22. Under the scheme, out of the approved houses of Baiga, Sahariya and Bharia tribes, more than 23 thousand houses have been completed.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) was launched in the country from April 01, 2016 by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Under this scheme, all eligible homeless families and families living in kuccha and dilapidated houses will be provided pucca houses by the year 2024, equipped with all basic facilities. The beneficiaries in the scheme are selected on the basis of the survey list of Social, Economic and Caste Census-2021. Under the scheme, people living in plain areas are provided Rs 1.20 lakh per house and Rs 1.30 lakh in IPA districts (Integrated Action Plan for Tribal and Backward Districts).
Once the house is approved, first installment of Rs 25,000 is given, second installment of Rs 40/45 thousand at plinth level, third installment of Rs.40/45 thousand at lintel level and fourth installment of Rs.15 thousand is given on completion of house. Apart from this, Rs 12,000 is additionally given for the construction of toilets. Under MNREGA scheme, wages for 90 to 95 days is also paid to the beneficiary of the house.
Awas Plus Yojana has been started to provide Pradhan Mantri Awas to eligible persons who have been left out in the survey list of Social, Economic and Caste Census-2021. In this, the names of 31 lakh 36 thousand families left out in the state have been added, who will be given houses as per the guidelines of the Government of India.
Through this innovation, integrated action plans are made by linking various schemes in such villages or gram panchayats, where more than 100 houses are being built, to ensure all-round development of the village and the villagers. In this, works like community and individual infrastructure building, social security, livelihood strengthening etc. are undertaken. So far, 2731 villages have been identified in the entire state under Abhyuday Navachar, out of which a detailed action plan has been prepared for the all-round development of 1668 villages.
Beneficiaries are being encouraged to use fly ash bricks in housing construction. These bricks are cheaper and of higher quality than normal bricks.
Self-help groups have also been linked with housing construction work in the state. More than 300 members of 33 self-help groups are making about 60 to 65 thousand fly ash bricks daily in the state.
Apart from this, centering material has been made available to 11 thousand 840 members of about 2800 self-help groups by getting loans from banks. Through these works, the women of self-help groups of rural areas are also being financially strengthened.
